How BackerMo works

BackerMo is all-or-nothing crowdfunding for verified Philippine businesses. Backers pledge with a card, and nobody is charged unless the campaign reaches its goal by the deadline.

All or nothing

  1. Pledge with a card

Choose a reward and save a credit or debit card.

  2. Saved, not charged

Your card is verified and saved. Nothing is charged before the deadline.

  3. Charged only if funded

Cards are charged only if the goal is met by the deadline.

You're only charged if the campaign reaches its goal by the deadline.

For backers

  1. 1

Pick a project and a reward

Choose a reward tier. You pay at least its price, and you can choose to pay more. The reward is the same.

  2. 2

    Save your card

Use a credit or debit card. It's verified, not charged. Prepaid cards aren't accepted.

  3. 3

Change your mind before the deadline

Switch to another reward, change your amount or cancel, any time before the campaign ends.

  4. 4

    Charged only if it's funded

If the goal is met, your card is charged at the deadline and the business delivers your reward.

Questions backers ask

When am I charged?

Right after the campaign's deadline, and only if it reached its goal. Until then, your card is saved, not charged.

What if the campaign doesn't reach its goal?

Your card is never charged, and there's nothing you need to do.

Can I change my reward or cancel?

Yes, any time before the deadline, from My pledges.

What if my card fails when I'm charged?

We email you, and for some declines we retry automatically. You have 7 days to update your card. If it still can't be charged, your pledge is dropped.

Who delivers my reward?

The fundraiser, not BackerMo. BackerMo is not a store, and rewards are not guaranteed. The fundraiser is solely responsible for delivering rewards, and for refunding you if they can't. Read the Backer Acknowledgment

Who can raise money on BackerMo?

Only businesses registered in the Philippines. Our team checks each one's DTI or SEC registration, TIN and payout bank account before it can launch a campaign.

For fundraisers

Questions fundraisers ask

What happens if I don't reach my goal?

No backer is charged and you owe nothing. BackerMo's fee applies only to funded campaigns.

When do I get my money?

Cards are charged right after your deadline. Backers whose cards fail get 7 days to update them. Once charges settle, our team releases the payout to your verified bank account.

Can I change my campaign after launch?

Your goal, duration, story and cover image are locked once you launch, so backers get what they saw. You can add new reward tiers, and edit tiers nobody has pledged to yet. Changes are reviewed before they go live.

Can I run more than one campaign?

One at a time. You can launch your next campaign once the current one has been paid out or has closed without reaching its goal.
