Backer Acknowledgment · version 2 · effective 1 Oct 2026
Backer Acknowledgment
You accept this acknowledgment each time you make or change a pledge on BackerMo, a product of Vanguard AI Analytics, Inc. ("BackerMo", "we", "us"). It summarizes key parts of the Terms of Use, which apply in full. If the two differ, the Terms of Use prevail.
By pledging, you acknowledge and agree that:
1. Who you are dealing with
1.1. Your pledge is an agreement with the Fundraiser, not with BackerMo. The Fundraiser is the business named in the "Fundraiser details" on the campaign page. BackerMo is not a store and does not make, sell, own, ship, or deliver any reward.
1.2. A pledge is not an investment. It gives you no shares, equity, interest, profit, or other financial return.
1.3. You are paying for a reward. Every pledge is for a reward tier. The amount you choose, at or above the tier's minimum, is the price of that reward and is not a donation. Paying more than the minimum does not change the reward.
2. How your pledge works
2.1. All-or-nothing. Your card is charged only if the campaign reaches its goal by its deadline. If it does not, your pledge is voided and you are not charged.
2.2. Your card. Your card is saved securely by our payment service provider and must stay valid until the charge goes through. If the campaign succeeds, the full pledge amount is charged in Philippine pesos after the deadline. Your card issuer may add its own fees.
2.3. Changing or cancelling. You may change or cancel your pledge only before the deadline. After the deadline, your pledge is final.
2.4. Failed charges. If your card is declined, we may retry it and will email you. You have seven (7) days from the first failed attempt to update your card. After that, your pledge is dropped and you will not receive the reward.
2.5. Your details go to the Fundraiser. The Fundraiser receives your name, email address, pledge details, and any shipping details you give, to deliver your reward and contact you about the campaign.
3. Risks you accept
3.1. Rewards are not guaranteed. The project may be delayed, changed, or never completed, and the Fundraiser may be unable to deliver your reward.
3.2. Delivery dates are estimates and are often missed.
3.3. Rewards may differ from the images, descriptions, and specifications shown on the campaign page.
3.4. The Fundraiser may fail. It may run out of money, close, or stop responding. Funds paid out to a Fundraiser are no longer held by BackerMo, and we cannot recover them for you.
3.5. Verification is not endorsement. BackerMo checks that a Fundraiser is a registered business. We do not vouch for its honesty, finances, or ability to deliver, or for the accuracy of its campaign.
3.6. BackerMo does not guarantee that any reward will be delivered, that any project will succeed, or that you will get your money back.
4. Refunds and complaints
4.1. Refunds come from the Fundraiser. If the Fundraiser cannot deliver your reward, it is responsible for refunding you. BackerMo does not refund pledges, except where we choose to, for example when we suspend a campaign before its funds are paid out, or where the law requires it.
4.2. Contact the Fundraiser first about any problem with your reward, using the contact email on the campaign page. If you believe a campaign is fraudulent, misleading, or unlawful, use "Report this campaign".
4.3. Chargebacks. Disputing a valid pledge you authorized with your card issuer, instead of seeking a refund from the Fundraiser, may lead to suspension of your account.
5. Your confirmation
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old; that you have read the campaign, its rewards, its risks, and the Fundraiser details; that you are pledging an amount you can afford to lose; and that clicking to accept this acknowledgment is your electronic signature under the Electronic Commerce Act (RA 8792).
